Why I love Europe: German Beer-gardens

Although not exclusive to Germany most of my favorites are found in the area of Germany called Bavaria. Unlike the more rowdy beer halls that exist in these areas the gardens are much more sedate and are the perfect spots to enjoy a peaceful casual meal under the leafy chestnut tress that dot the country. Most serve a hearty portion of your favorite German food and plenty of cold delicious German beer. It's a great place to sit and experience a favorite German pastime and meet some interesting locals who are happy to share a table and talk about their favorite subject of the day.
