We have just returned from three weeks in Portugal, and everything looks good from our perspective.

Portugal truly meets all the criteria for our style of travel, offering wonderful historic sites, a laid-back local population, delicious simple dishes, impeccable wines, and a cost that is at least 25% lower than other major EU countries. This makes it a must-visit destination to include in your European travels.
During our 15-day trip, we visited Porto, a few charming small towns with interesting attractions, the Algarve region, and Lisbon. Portugal's compact size allows for convenient driving, and we had a car for 8 days, giving us the flexibility to explore the smaller towns on our itinerary.
