Arrival in Paris. You will most likely arrive in Terminal 2; take the Roissy Bus which will take you to central Paris. It runs every 15 minutes to Paris Opera Garnier and takes 45 to 60 minutes to reach that destination.

Check in to your hotel and freshen up a bit. Don’t sleep as you may never pass this way again and staying active will help you get over the jet lag. Now let’s take a little walk and get the blood flowing in the Historic Core of Paris. I would take the Metro or if you are pressed for time just grab a cab and head to Notre Dame. The tour is in Rick Steves France Book or even better the Audio version is available on his App. Don’t forget to download before you leave to avoid the hassle and expense. Stop along the way and have lunch in the nearby Latin Qtr. Lots of cafes and Gyro and Kabab stands for a quick lunch.

A must see in this area is Sainte-Chapelle. The stained glass is the most remarkable in the world and its been recently restored. Don’t miss it!

It will probably be mid afternoon by now and probably a good time to get the Louvre out of the way if only to see the Mona Lisa. Head back to the hotel and chill before going to dinner. I have a specific street in mind and you can pick from there. Cab it over to the St Germain area. The street and streets off of Rue DES CANETTES are great for walking around and there are a number of nice bars and restaurants there. Enjoy an early supper and now you can crash and get your 8 hours of sleep. Another day in Paris awaits you.

Day 2- You should feel better now a good night’s sleep. After breakfast which is a coffee and croissant in Paris it’s time for the tour by bus. Find Hop on Hop off bus stop nearest you. Take the PARIS GRAND TOUR and get a great overview of the city. The places that you might want to hop off to see are STOP 8 The Musee de Orsay. I would head straight for the impressionists area and get 6 inches from Van Gogh, Monet, Manet and the rest of those guys.

Hop back on and go to Stop 12 the Champs Elysees and the Arch Di Triomphe. Take a walk up and down the Champs. Have lunch in the Tuiliers, several lunch cafes in the park (Stop 18). Enjoy the park sit by the fountains, soak it all in. You will pass the Eiffel Tower on this bus route but I would save that for twilight and go up then when the sun is setting.

The other area to see if you have time this day are the Pantheon ( Napoleons Tomb) , and Luxembourg Gardens both in the same vicinity but not on the bus route you are taking.

Tour the Eiffel Tower and then dinner in the nearby Rue Cler neighborhood. See Rick Steves' book for details.

Other favorites for us if you have some extra time:

Versailles-Just remember it’s a full day.

Montmarte- Again follow Ricks Audio Tour

The Rue Cler Market and neighborhood near the Eiffel Tour.
